It is true that technological limitations have made turn-based designs the only practical choice at certain points in time.

Consoles like the NES simply could not process things quickly enough to have real-time gameplay in many cases.

However, technological limitations are not the issue anymore!

The word “obsolete” doesn’t even apply to turn-based game design.

It’s our own limited brains that make it necessary to slow things down in some games.

Ironically, it sometimes takes a turn-based game to really make you think on your feet!
