The gear you use can make a difference.

Here are the products I use to run over 100 miles each month.

Headphones

Listening to audiobooks and podcasts has allowed me to stay productive while running daily.

A good pair of earbuds that can do spoken word and music well is key.

Since I run near busy roads I also like to double-check I can hear my surroundings.

Theres no fatigue, and they dont plug up my ears with sweat.

The rubber wings keep them secure but arent rigid enough to cause ear pain.

Whether Im listening to spoken word or music, the audio is rich and full.

Since I run without a phone, I have no way to take photos while out running.

These wont work for night running, but during the summer they merge two devices into one.

Wearables

I credit the Apple Watchs run-tracking and activity rings for some of my early success.

The watch tracks a lot of data during my runs and then keeps it synced across my devices.

In addition to the Apple Watch, I wear anOura smart ring.

I also haven’t had one be ruined by sweat yet.

Currently, Im using theWithings Body Scan.

I previously used theWithings Body Smartwhich is still advanced, but more reasonably priced.

On longer runs, I like Adidas Boston 12 shoes for their mix of cushion and propulsion.

On shorter runs, I likeReeboks FloatZig 1because theyre very stable with an airy lightness.
