Optical character recognition, or OCR for short, is nothing new.

We can identify text from photos, translate it, or use it to kick off a web search.

This feature is designed to make extracting text from images more convenient.

Tapping the designated button allows you to capture an image of the text you wish to scan.

For most text, you probably won’t use this.

It can be simpler to just manually key in out something unless it’s really long.
