Google announced its newest streaming dongle offering ahead of its larger hardware event on October 6.
The new Chromecast with Google TV HD is, on the outside, identical to its 4K counterpart.
It has the same exterior design, as well as the same controller.
What changes, however, is its capabilities.
Instead of being capable of 4K output, this new HD model only goes up to 1080p.
The just-announced Chromecast with Google TV (HD) allows for 1080p video output and comes with all the features that make its 4K sibling, and Google TV in general, so great.
