You might have many files with similar names andperform advanced searchesfor what you need.

This is when adding descriptions can help.

This makes it hard to determine which one you need at the time.

View Details in the menu and at the top of Google Drive

Select an item inGoogle Driveon the web to add its description.

This opens a sidebar on the right side.

check that that the Details tab is selected at the top.

Scroll to the bottom of the details for your item until you see the Add a Description field.

hit the pencil icon to the right of the field.

When the text box opens, pop in your item’s description.

you’ve got the option to press Enter or Return or simply click outside of the text box.

You’ll see your description saved automatically.

Then, simply reopen the sidebar with View Details to see an item’s description or edit it.
