Summary
Widgets on Windows are a great way to quickly check information or access key features.
But if you find that the widgets aren’t working, you could easily fix the problem.
Preliminary Fixes
The first thing you should probably do when widgets aren’t working is to kickstart your rig.
If that doesn’t work, tryupdating Windows 11to see if Microsoft has rolled out a patch.
Also, be sure toscan your Windows PC for virusesin case malware is the cause.
Access Widgets Through the Taskbar
An easy way to view your widgets is to press Win+W.
But perhaps there’s a problem with this shortcut.
Under “Taskbar Items,” double-check the toggle for “Widgets” is set to “On.”
If it is set to “Off,” click it to turn it on.
pick the widgets icon from your taskbar and, with any luck, your widgets will start working again.
However, if it malfunctions, you’re able to find that your widgets are no longer working.
you’re free to fix that easily by restarting the service.
To do that, right-click an empty part of the Taskbar and select “Task Manager.”
This will stop the Widgets service.
Wait a few seconds and it restarts automatically, hopefully resolving the issue.
You will most likely experience some missing or non-functioning graphical elements, particularly if they’re web-based.
To do that, go to theMicrosoft Developer website, then download and install Edge WebView2.
Install Windows Web Experience Pack
Windows Web Experience Pack helps widgets function properly by keeping their web components up-to-date.
your system should already have it installed if you’re using the latest version of Windows 11.
But if it doesn’t, you’re free to head to theMicrosoft Storeand install it.
To fix that, press Win+S to open Start, then search for and open “Microsoft Store”.
After you install or update Windows Web Experience Pack, check to see if your widgets are working properly.
To switch from a local account to a Microsoft account, start by pressing Win+i to open parameters.
Then simply follow the instructions to sign in to your Microsoft account.
If that is the case, perhapsresetting your Windows 11 PCcan help.
This is on top of addressing any issues you may be experiencing with the widgets.
It can be frustrating when the widgets you rely on suddenly stop working.
Hopefully, you’ll be able to fix the issue before resulting to resetting your setup.
