If you’re routinely switching between apps with open windows, that can get a little cumbersome.

This does not work on Windows 11 as of May 2022.

This works on PCs running Windows 7, 8, or 10.

Generic W10 RegEdit Header

Right-click theAdvancedkey and choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Name the new value “LastActiveClick”.

Double-hit the newLastActiveClickvalue to open its properties window.

Open the Start menu, type “regedit” into the search bar, and then hit Enter or click “Open."

The “Enable Last Active Click” hack creates theLastActiveClickvalue and sets it to 1.

Both hacks are included in the following ZIP file.

Double-grab the one you want to use and click through the prompts.

Navigate to the “Advanced” registry key.

Right-click “Advanced,” then mouse over “New” and select “DWORD (32-bit) Value."

Name the new value “LastActiveClick”.

Double-click “LastActiveClick,” set the value to “1” and then click “OK."

Double-click “Enable Last Active Click.reg” if you don’t want to modify the registry yourself.
