It’s also important it’s possible for you to easily recall what name to use.

If the name of the location itself won’t work, then try something associated with that location.

The more obvious name is taken, but we still found a unique name for our devices.

The best thing to do is name them sequentially after their associated group.

For kitchen lights, that could be Kitchen 1, Kitchen 2, Kitchen 3.

And you won’t have to spend much time thinking of a unique name.

The number in the name is still necessary.

It avoids the confusion of your voice assistant asking “which kitchen do you mean?”
