Today we look at restricting access to some or all drives on the machine using Local Group Policy.
First jot down gpedit.msc in the search box of the Start Menu and hit Enter.
Now navigate to User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Windows Explorer.
Then on the right side under Setting, double choose Prevent access to drives from My Computer.
Note: This setting wont prevent users from using programs that reach the local drives.
The restrictions take effect immediately, no restart is required.
Local Group Policy allows you to customize several options for how you want to administer your machine.
