Installing a smart fan bypasses these problems.

bring up the Wink app and tap the hamburger menu in the top left corner.

Tap the “Add to Wink” button.

Tap the “Utilities & Climate” option.

Tap the “Fans” selection.

And then snag the brand of fan you own.

Tap “Next” to get started setting up the fan.

First, you’ll turn off your fan at the light switch and then tap “Next.”

Leave your fan off for now and tap the “Next” button.

Next, tap the “Connect Now” button.

Your hub should start blinking blue.

Now, power your fan on and wait for the hub and fan to pair.

When the Wink detects and connects to the fan, the light will blink five times.

If this doesn’t happen, your fan probably isn’t in pairing mode.

Turn the light switch off for one second then on for three seconds.

Repeat this sequence six times until the fan light blinks three times.

Then, repeat the above steps with the Wink app.

If you have more than one smart fan, you’ll need to repeat the process for each fan.
