On the video screen, in the right sidebar, tap the three dots.

In the open menu, select “Download.”

Instagram will save the selected video to your phone.

Select “Settings and Privacy."

And that’s it.

On the following page, at the bottom, select “Download Your Information.”

Choose “Request a Download.”

Choose “Archiving and Downloading."

You’ll then have to re-request Instagram to send you a copy of your data.

And thats how you prevent this social media app from saving copies of your content on your phone.
