If you’re actually using the small speakers in your monitor, this isn’t the article for you.

The reason Windows does this annoying behavior isn’t, we promise, to actually annoy you.

Poor Windows is doing its best to ensure when you want audio, you get audio.

to open up the “Sound” multimedia properties window we want.

Either way, you’ll see a window like the one below.

Scroll down until you see your monitor(s).

Simply right-press every monitor you wish to disable as an audio output and select “Disable.”

But, with the monitor audio output disabled, you’re all set for now!

No more Windows switching over to your monitor speakers.
