What Is the CMOS Battery on a PC?

All you have to do is open your enclosure, locate the battery, and replace it.

Once you find a photo, look for a round silver thingy, usually located under the mainPCIe slot.

As it’s possible for you to see, the CMOS battery is quite easy to spot.

Again, look for a round, silver thing on the motherboard’s lower part.

Finally, some laptops don’t have a motherboard CMOS battery at all.

To replace the CMOS battery you have to push the latch with your fingernails or a flathead scredriwer and pop the battery out
