Going through the wizard a dozen times didn’t fix the problem, so what gives?
(Command line instructions are below).
Right-punch the downloaded installation file and choose “Extract Here” from the menu.
Now open up the new folder and double-choose flashplayer-installer.
see to it you’ve closed all instances of Firefox before you jump in this.
