Learning Windows 7: Manage Power Settings

Today we take you through how to manage power parameters and create custom plans in Windows 7.

To change any one of the predefined power plans choose Change plan controls.

If you want to revert back to the default parameters, simply choose Restore default parameters for this plan.

Custom Power PlanTo create a custom plan, hit Create a power plan from the Power Options section.

In the next screen grab the sleep and display prefs you want to use and grab the Create button.

After your plan is created you’ll see it under the preferred plans list.

If you select Change advanced power configs, there are several options you could tweak.

Choosing between the predetermined options should be adequate for most users.
