As with most things Mac, Adium is pretty then most IM clients.
Getting Started
After downloading Adium and mounting the .dmg you install by dragging the icon to you applications folder.
For now lets start from scratch.
Now you will be asked to choose your protocol that you want to use.
For this example we will use AOL Instant Messenger.
Adding a buddy or contact is simple, just tap on the Contact menu and then click Add Contact.
Alterenitivly you might use the key command of command + D to bring up the Add Contact window.
As you would think, double press you contacts name to start a chat with them.
The basic lay out is nice, simple and clean.
The Buddy list has several built in style which can be edited.
Then we go back in the Appearance pane turning the Opacity down to 0%.
There are so many options with this client from Twitter to Facebook chat.
