VRAM(Video RAM) is to your GPU asRAMis to your CPU.
GPU horsepower means nothing if the chip is twiddling its virtual thumbs, waiting for the data it needs.
Most current and past games will run just fine on 8GB of VRAM.

In particular, don’t use thehighest texture qualitysettings unless it all fits in VRAM with no performance issues.
It won’t be that long before the minimum requirements for modern games call for 8GB of VRAM.
The pressure is on, but this really is an issue for our next GPU purchase.
