This change was made during a routine firmware update and was not communicated to customers.
Previously, the first-gen Pixel Watch could charge from 0% to 100% in just 80 minutes.
A full charge now takes 110 minutes.
Fast charging to 80% used to take 55 minutes, but it now requires 75 minutes.
And a 50% charge has been extended from half an hour to 45 minutes.
These numbers are based on thePixel Watch specs page, which was recently updated by Google.
The company does not provide an explanation for the downgraded charging speed.
Again, overheating is our best guessthe Pixel Watch tends to get hot while charging.
As noted byAndroid Police, most Pixel Watch usersseem unfazedby this change.
They’re happy that the Pixel Watch stays cool while charging, and that’s about it.
Downgrading an expensive product after launching its successor isn’t going to win Google any fans.
Then, scroll down, select “System,” and tap “System Updates.”
