If you haven’t tried it, you might be missing one of the best improvements in Windows 11.

Media Player is organized into your music library, video library, and playlists.

When you open a video, Media Player will switch to a minimal playback interface.

Music playback controls appear at the bottom of the window and in the Windows quick tweaks panel.

File format support is still a problem.

The new Media Player also can’t play DVDs or Blu-ray discs, only music CDs.

VLC Media Player can also play DVDs, and even some Blu-ray discs, depending on the format.

There are also no visualizers for music, which was also present in the old Windows Media Player.
